Essential Things to Bring in Your Carry-on Bag
Leaving behind those necessary items to get you out of any emergency can no longer happen on your next trip. Learn how to prepare and check off all the items on your checklist.
When planning a trip, you think about all the clothes, accessories, perfumes and hygiene items you need to pack. But what if your bag never makes it to its destination? Therefore, it is necessary to plan the carry-on bag very carefully! It is the one who will save you in case your main bag gets lost on the way, or your connecting flight is delayed, and you have to stay at the airport for a little longer. Remember: Your carry-on bag is your best friend. It brings the essential items to ensure a peaceful trip without headaches.
Carry-on bag size and weight
Every airline allows passengers to take one small piece of luggage on board. Usually, the size is 55 cm X 35 cm X 25 cm and already includes handles, wheels and external pockets. In addition, the maximum weight of 10 kg.
❗ Consult your airline's website before travelling and confirm the size and weight allowed.
Liquids and storage
One of the big questions when we talk about travel is how many liquid items you can take (which includes liquids, aerosols, gels and creams). Yes, there is a limit for transporting liquids in your carry-on bag. Storage should be in bottles of up to 100 ml, all in transparent and hermetically sealed bags (as the picture shows).
❗ The sum of the 100 ml bottles cannot exceed 1l.
❗ In some airports, even aerosol deodorant in a smaller 100ml bottle is confiscated. To avoid running out, opt for the roll-on.
❗ Water bottle and soda can, unfortunately, cannot be x-rayed. Leave it to buy later, or if your water bottle is not disposable, take it empty so you don't risk leaving it behind.
"But I always see people with Duty-Free bags getting on the plane."
Yes, for Duty-Free products, there is a different rule. Liquids purchased free of taxes can be transported sealed, in an inviolable bag and with the invoice. If you have a connection, inform the security agent about the transport of the liquid.
Prohibited items
Just as you have rules for the items to be carried in your carry-on bag, you have the items that cannot go on the checklist. Transporting explosive or flammable objects (fireworks, aerosols, chemical, toxic and acidic substances), weapons and sharp objects (such as scissors and corkscrews) is prohibited.
❗ It is possible to take only one lighter per passenger.
❗ Consult your airline's website before travelling and confirm the items allowed.
So let's take a look at the must-have essentials in your carry-on bag and the checklist you need to do when putting yours together!
